The Sfb 288 (1992-2003) was a special research project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, which is the central public funding organization for academic research in Germany. Its emphasis lied in promoting close cooperation between mathematicians and physicists, working on common problems in the fields of differential geometry and quantum physics.The Sfb was spread over 4 institutes of higher education located in Berlin, the Technische Universität Berlin being the speaker institution.
