International Workshop
on
Visualization
and Mathematics
New: "A selection of contributions for VisMath95 is available now.
The main goal of this workshop is to bring together mathematicians
and experts from scientific visualization to close the gap between
both areas. Latest algorithms and applications will be presented,
visions and requests for the next generation of scientific computing
environments will be addressed, and common research interests
will be identified. The focus will be on new mathematical concepts
and on mathematical applications in scientific visualization.
The following topics will be covered:
Date and Location
The workshop has taken place at the appealing Harnack-Haus
in Berlin-Dahlem.
The Harnack-Haus belongs to the German Max-Planck-Gesellschaft
and has been built by their predecessor, the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gesellschaft.
With our workshop we stay in the house's long tradition as an
international meeting place for scientists.
Location: Harnack-Haus in Berlin-Dahlem
Date: May 30 - June 2, 1995Workshop Format
The workshop included invited and contributed talks. Invited talks were 45 minutes, contributed talks 20 minutes. A program and extended abstracts are available. Workshop participants received a printed abstract volume. We are planning to publish a selection of articles and are currently in contact with publishers.
As a supplement a popular-science video night with the title CyberMath was organized in a Berlin cinema, open for a general audience.
